Nurturing Minds believes it is never too early to teach children to nurture their mental well-being. Our School programme is linked with the PSHE curriculum and is designed to improve emotional literacy, healthy mindsets and teach children emotional regulation tools through fun and engaging lessons! Sessions are offered from Reception through to the end of Year 6.
Mental Wellbeing

- Students will learn that mental health, just like physical health, is part of daily life; the importance of taking care of mental health.
- Develop emotional literacy skills and understand how emotions can affect their bodies and how they behave.
- Strategies to manage big feelings and recognise what helps people to feel better.
-Students will learn about the elements of having a healthy and balanced lifestyle and the effects this has on them. E.g. sleep, healthy diet, emotional wellbeing, hobbies, activities and physical activity.
- How and when to seek help from adults inside and outside of school.
- Problem-solving strategies for dealing with emotions, challenges and change, including the transition to new schools/classes.
- To recognise their individuality and personal qualities and identify personal strengths, skills, achievements and interests and how these contribute to a sense of self-worth
- About how to manage setbacks/perceived failures, including how to re-frame unhelpful thinking
- Understand the importance of friendship and develop strategies for building positive friendships. E.g. loving kindness, compassion, shared interests and support.
